The Ecolizer 2.0 - A unique eco-design tool

With the Ecolizer 2.0, OVAM (the Public Waste Agency of Flanders) presents a scientifically based tool that can help increase the environmental friendliness of a design or product.
The first Ecolizer dates from 2005. Now, over four years later, all the extracted data has been updated and reprocessed into indicators based on “ReCiPe”, the new eco-indicator-method.
The Ecolizer 2.0 is also the first version available in English. The OVAM hopes that offering a dynamic and up-to-date tool will inspire national and international designers and companies to create innovative and environmentally friendly products.
In cooperation with Design Flanders, OVAM organises a half-day Ecolizer 2.0 workshop on 25th of February at Design Flanders in Brussels. OVAM and VITO will explain the underlying methodology and through practical exercises and a real product case, we demonstrate how to use the new Ecolizer 2. This is an ideal opportunity for designers to learn how to use this tool as a way to apply ecodesign in the design process.
Registration is free but obligatory.
